Southern Miss Wesley History

The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) Wesley Foundation, also known as Southern Miss Wesley, is a campus ministry affiliated with the United Methodist Church. It was established to support and nurture the spiritual lives of students at USM. The exact founding date of the Wesley Foundation has been cited differently in various sources: one mentions 1939, while another notes 1927.

Throughout its history, Southern Miss Wesley has been dedicated to preparing and sending leaders to make disciples of Jesus Christ. Its influence extends across various professions, having been a cornerstone in the lives of seminary and university presidents, pastors, teachers, counselors, and many others.

The foundation has been led by numerous directors over the years, each contributing to its growth and impact. A detailed list of these leaders and their years of service is available on the foundation's official website.

Today, Southern Miss Wesley continues its mission by offering various ministries and programs to foster meaningful relationships and spiritual growth among students. These initiatives include weekly worship services, Bible studies, and community outreach projects.
